Word of the Day -- Petrichor

This is a beautiful word to me, not only for the sound of it, but also the meaning.

Petrichor -- a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.

It's one of those sensory words.  It conjures up just what you would expect, dry earth, brown, loose dirt and grass being dappled and splatted by rain.  Just a beautiful image...

Have a great day!
