Built in the late 1100, well the first keep was built then, and expanded over the years, The Carreg Cennan Castle suffered innumerable sieges through a host of wars between warring Welsh factions, the English, Normans. It rarely fell to enemy arms being highly defensible and clearly stoutly made. It was finally sacked and destroyed during the War of the Roses.
