Aihrde is coming to World Anvil!

Troll Lord Games joins World Anvil

https://www.worldanvil.com/w/world-of-aihrde-trolllordgames

Thanks to an introduction by our newest TLG employee, Chuck, we have dipped our toes into World Anvil. For those of you who do not know WA, it is a place where you can layout your entire RPG world for well, the world to see.  And we have a very large world, our World of Aihrde.  And it continues to grow.

So after talking to Janet and Dimitris (WA founders), we have decided that WA is a great place to showcase our world.  You can enter maps, adventures, timelines, calendar of events, really anything your mind can imagine.  You can build your world there, add to it, shape it, etc.  We are fortunate in that we already have an entire world already developed, we just have to put it in World Anvil and figure out the best way to showcase it.

We have already set up and account, Troll Lord Games on World Anvil, and would love for you to come over and follow us and check it out!  We welcome any and all comments, ideas, suggestions on the best way to do make this the best world out there. We intend to make it a fully functioning world you can use in conjunction with your TTRPG, your VTT, what have you.  Keep in mind we are very new at this and are still getting our feet wet -- that's why your input is so vital and valuable.  And if you have some expertise with WA, let us know!  We are looking a few volunteers to help us out with the overall layout, data entry and design.  So this is your chance to help shape our world on World Anvil! If you are interested in volunteering, please contact me direct at tim@trolllord.com

The Open Gate

It is too late in the day for travel. The evening has brought a mist to cloud your vision. Shades of a cool air dampen the forest green. But no matter. Your errand is great. The road, dark or gray, must be yours.

A Stone's Entrance

The stairs climb down a steep path to an entrance with stone posts and lintel. The walls to the left and right of the path are a tumbled wreck of rock and slag, built to blend with the cliffs around. But the door is there, before you, clear to see. The dry smell of stone hangs in the air, but something else too...

Paths of the Valley

The path yields a broad valley, where tumbled meadows of green wash the feet of towering cliffs. A stone house

No Wound nor Weariness

Driven by their oath to the All Father, the Andanuth, the dwarves take no heed of wound or weariness.

Hollowed Bones of Hope

Blackened with the toil of age the castle's walls blend with the towering cliffs she once held secure. Now her walls are grass covered mounds and her towers the hollowed bones of hope. But there lies the end of your road, and what wealth but time it offers, only you can say.

The Summoning Warmth

The fire holds you. Its dancing lights ensorcell you like nothing in many long days. They draw you in, pulling you into a soothing radiance of calming warmth. But you know there is danger, for the light carries far in the crisp, cool air, summoning curious beasts who stalk the wild and hunt its darkened corridors.

Weathered Road

Weathered by time, eroded by the tread of countless heels, ground away to broken, shards of stone. The road lies before you, unfamiliar, yet strangely conversant. Castles & Crusades.

The Bridge

The bridge spans shallow water. The road winds through the country beyond, even to the mountain, your objective. It seems odd, here in the wilds, this bridge, but maybe its best not to get your feet wet this late in the year.

The Shelves of the Mist

Elves dwelt there. In their glory. But the cruel Winter brought war & death. Such tragic loss that the weight was as a stain. Now men call them the Shelves of the Mist, but still, they beckon, offering redemption and adventure. ~ The World of Aihrde

Beware the Goblin Road

Goblins possess a great love of water in all its courses. But they are a clever people and you should be wary in their country, for oft times what seems a stream in the wilderness is in fact a goblin road. ~ The World of Aihrde

Fortifying the Hill

They set the castle upon the hill and fortified it with high walls and towers. Many barbicans were set upon the singular path that led to the berg, and these were made such that one could defend the other. The castle was thought impregnable, and for that reason, they set the store of their treasures within it.  ~ The World of Aihrde

Hard Journey

The rain came from the west, blanketing the Rhodope Mountains, before it continued on to the lower valleys of the Mistbane River. It promised a harder journey through a country already hard enough. ~ The World of Aihrde

Of Gods & Light

The land erupts in rage, tongues of flame rise, driving great columns of ash and soot before them. The wind coils the chaos into mighty columns that capture the light and cast it back to earth. All the world is lit in the darkness and you can see the road before you.

Darkening Skies

Slowly the blackening heavens blot out the sun, choking the light, casting undulating shadows across the ground over which you trod. Before you the gulch opens, dipping down into a broader valley. Now however, it is all cast in darkness...

The Tombs of the Ethrum Kings

Few remember now the Kings of Ethrum, for they ruled long ago in a world raw with youth. But their tombs remain, lonely things, lost in the deep forests and undisturbed places. They are fearful places for the king's were laid to rest not only in stone, but in sorcery too. Only the foolhardy dare break the seals and unleash the ancient world... The World of Aihrde

The Mariner's Ship

Little remained of the mariner's ship. The surf and time had ground much of it away. But still, lying there in ruin, it captured the evening's light, cupping the stars in its cavity. It held a magic of the old world. ~ The World of Aihrde

Sun Bleached Towers

He built his tower upon a high cliff and fortified it with walls and bastions. There it stood, white stone set atop sun-bleached cliffs. A tower of some noble lord. But it was never so, for the wizard who dwelt there carved dungeons from the rock and peopled them with his wild experiments and machinations...

Tabled Ruins

The land is dry, hard. Beyond the tree it is broken by gulches and small cliffs before it begins to climb into the ruins of a table of a mountain that rises from the rocks in disjointed slate-red cliffs. Atop the table lies the ruins of the old keep.

The House of Lamentation

They built their house upon a high ledge that looked over the valley. They fortified it and set a bell tower there as well. On holy days they rang the bell, a lonely sound, that rolled across the valley. They called to their dark god in song and poem, and these were the Lamentations of Ornduhl, the Red God. ~ The World of Aihrde

The Goblin's Hold

The jumbled steps are sunken and grass covered. The walls are little more than piles of rock, but the door to the goblin's hold remains in the wall of stone. It is freshly made, though closed. The area seems undisturbed...

Old Trolls

Trolls are evil creatures and their life's deeds weigh upon them. After long lives they grow tired and old and they cannot carry the weight of their evil. Eventually they stop wandering and stand beneath the burden. Unmoving, they become rooted to the ground. Dry. Gnarled. With little mind left they stand in the wind and weather for all the rest of their years. ~ The World of Aihrde

Knights of Haven

The Knights of Haven settled upon the shores of the Inner Sea, protecting the pilgrims on their journies north. They built castles, simple and unadorned, to house the knights and their soldiery. ~ The World of Aihrde

The Rimfelt

The branch of the Arc of Time flowed through the Void to his realm, and Ornduhl named it the Rimfelt. He set sorcery upon the Arc itself, so that many who were weak and evil became lost and fearful and drifted from the Arc and their path to the Endless Pools, and instead followed his path, the Rimfelt. He gathered the dead who drifted toward him and bound them to him as slaves to serve him in the Five Realms. ~ The World of Aihrde

The Lake of Ynul

The journey yields little until the end, when the Maelstrom opens up above you, the lights of her chaos casting a pale glow across the roof top mountains. Beyond lies the blue-black waters of the Lake of Ynul. ~ The World of Aihrde

The Land of Giants

The morning air clings to you, moist and cool. Somewhere to your left a crow caws; its lonely call unanswered. Otherwise, the quiet green of the forest lies undisturbed before you. But this is the Detmold, a land of giants. ~The World of Aihrde
