Rippling Rings and Galaxy Things

Unbeknownst to many of us, well at least me, astronomers have been arguing about the size of the Milky Way Galaxy. Apparently there are two rings of stars that circle the core and these are either part of or not part of the galaxy.

Well new thoughts have emerged, this time from China, to spur the debate on. Plus there's some conversation about ripples in the stars and what may have caused it...another galaxy smashing into ours like a Mad Max movie!
