As you all probably know Veronica Mars movie kickstarter project hammered home over 5 million dollars in backer money. Zach Braff has now joined the fray with his own project, Wish I was Here. Braff is most commonly known for his work on Scrubs, but also in Garden State, a movie he wrote and directed. Braff hit 1 million in less than a day and as of this writing he's at about 1.2 million. He'll hit his mark and then some.
Its an interesting paradigm, the growth of kickstarter to fund such a variety of projects, and honestly its welcome as we can see movies made more to the liking of the actual movie makes with less of the idiotic changes we often here proposed by studios. With crowd funding artists can certainly maintain their original concept and avoid some of the crazed pit falls we've seen in movies before.

Yes, it's very, VERY exciting to see the power of crowd sourcing. Is it possible the popular sci-fi predictions of a future run by corporations instead of governments will yield to the reality of a future run by masses of individuals? True democracy. I'm not sure the idea is any less frightening. Yes . . . not sure.

Nah, It'll be a mixed giant bag of chopped carrots and broken sticks. Corporations are awesome. My favorite thing to do is see people like Mat Damon make movies about horrible evil corporations; his movies being made by gigantic corporations like Viacom. And I think, "why do these corporations make movies about how evil they are?" and then I remember, "oh yeah, because we pay them to do it." and then I think "well played mr. corporation. well played indeed"
then i look for my horse, but someone replaced with a truck! haha
