Planetary Defense Conference

This kicks off this weekend in Flagstaff Arizona. Sponsored by the International Academy of Astronautics, or the IAA. Conference.

This years conference includes planetary defense, Impact Affects, Warning Systems and a live demonstration. Monday has a lecture on the NEOSHIELD, Near Earth Object Shield, exploring the UN's readiness and how it can be improved as well as a lecture on the YORP Effect (this rotational spin of asteroids as determined by the amount of sunlight striking the celestial body).
