Well the area anyway. Archeologists have long suspected that the site was more active than previously thought and now evidence has come to light that the area around Stone Henge was occupied for thousands of years before the monument itself went up.
A natural spring lies not far from the construct, in a small crook of land. Here the findings are significant, yielding a great deal of clues about who and what dwelt in and around the area. Mesolithic (the per-agricultural period between 10,000 and 5000 BC) peoples occupied the site time and time again, no doubt drawn to the area's fresh water.

On first reading, I thought the title implied Stonehenge was older than thought -- as in older than thinking. And I thought, how could that be? Like the stones just fell together that way? Doh!
