The Dungeon Entrance

The forest breaks behind you as does the oppressive air. Before you the ground rises to a small hillock, a promontory overlooking a broader valley beyond. Crowning the rock stands the ruins of an  ancient castle. Stairs climb the hill to where her jumbled stones lie buried in tufts of long, dry grass. The walls and towers that remain stand, rooted in the rocky ground. The shell of keep and two towers crown the ruin, the wreckage of which are broken only by the dark windows to the emptiness inside

The gathering clouds promise a storm and the cool wind drives you to take refuge in the beneath stone and stair . . . .
