As the party has just bought a bunch of horses to carry them across the Tar Kiln on their way to the Gottland it seems fitting to put some pictures of some snow-bound horses up in the Dens.
Men have been riding horses for about 6000 years, give or take a thousand. We really aren't certain when we began to ride them but in the vast rolling steppes of the lands that sprawl from the Urals to the Great Wall, we have evidence of veneration of the horse (bones in graves, tokens, etc) about 4500 BC. So its probably safe to say that the horse was something of a part of the lives of our ancestors somewhat before that. But from the Mongolian steppes to the flats of Nebraska the horse has carried people for several millennium.
