The Multiverse

I think comic books have already explored all the theories put forward in this article about the nature of a multi-verse. These all sound a bit off key to me; the theory that time and space are infinite (a possibility) but that matter can only be arranged in some manner or the other, which leads one to the belief that there are alternate universes out there where I am typing this blog and scratching my head is just too comic-bookish.

The idea that matter can only arrange itself it certain manners is plausible. Certainly. That our universe has its matter laid out along those lines. Indeed. But why does our neighboring universe have to be some magical land of Oz. Its not of course; like solar systems, like galaxies, like universes. Beyond the scope of the light that holds ours together are others, set at odd angles to our own, drifting, floating in the Great Empty.

And they tumble on through the infinite expanse of  . . .

What lies between them though, between these great giant strings of light? Where there is no light, only darkness; a deep abiding, cold, darkness. That's the real question, and we already know the answer to that, don't we?
