While discussing the planet Pluto Jeffrey Moore, the leader of the geology and imaging team for the New Horizons mission, remarked "we got tired of calling it the dark spot on the left and the dark spot on the right."
So they have begun putting names on things after an online pol gave them many suggestions. One of the first was Cthulhu, followed by Balrog and other similar names.
Now you can go to Pluto and hang out in the Cthulhu Basin.
How cool is that?
