Old School Gaming . . . Really Old

Turkish archeologists have unearthed a 5000 year old burial pit. To put that into context, it was a long time ago.

In the pit they found a trove of gaming tokens, including what is patently a four sided dice and some miniatures, boars and wolves by the look of it. Turns out the ancient Mesopotamians enjoyed a board gaming culture as such artifacts have been found or reported before. This represents the oldest and most complete collection. The tokens were found with a collection of flat wooden sticks.

Probably some youngster's game that he took to the grave with him. Read on.

The real mystery is what  snacks did they eat while gaming?

You think you're old school with your painted minis. Son, back in my day, we carved that stuff before painting it! (lol)
