Some months back Hasbro filed a lawsuit against Sweetpea Entertainment to stop them from making a D&D movie. They claimed that rights had reverted to them because Sweetpea had failed to produce a movie in the allotted time. Sweetpea denies this referencing one of the made for TV movies I believe. But Hasbro is laying claim to the intellectual property of Dungeons and Dragons, which includes the use of the game's name in any movie. They claim to be working with Universal in development of their own movie.
It all gets terribly confusing.
To muddy it up a bit. Sweatpea has counterclaimed and filed suit for actual damages as they claim Hasbro has obstructed their movie in production at Warner Bros. They claim to be working on the movie still, regardless of the initial claim.
Deadline
Of course what this really means is that they need a neutral arbiter of the law!

Have you told Sweetpea Entertainment that C&C is available for a movie deal? ;-)
Yes, but why would you let Courtney Solomon represent your work?
Getting it our of his hackneyed hands is the best hope for a decent D&D movie.
