Back to the Moon

NASA is sending a probe to the moon to study its atmosphere. Its a thin echo of Earth's atmosphere, but may hold clues to what we might encounter as we push off into the Darlking Skies. Eventually we'll be mining the asteroid belt and knowledge of what atmospheric conditions might exist there will be critical.

The probe launches from Virginia, the first ever launch from the Virginia Space Coast Launch Facility.

The probe has been dubbed Ladee; we'll assume its out of respect for Mr. Scott!!

Ladee takes flight on September 6, 2013.  Read On!
