In the Name of the Moon I will punish you!
Sailor Moon is celebrating its 20th Anniversary and they've announced a new show to celebrate! Apparently the new series will be a remake of the old, but still close to the Manga story line and remove all the westernized goobledeegoop that the original had in it by the time it landed here. So the new story is the old story done right.
Here's a great and humorous piece on Wired for you Sailor Moon curiosities. And here's some technical jargon on who is making it and what nots here.

Having watched the first episode, I'm cautiously optimistic. It's hard to get a good read on the new series, since the premiere is very similar to the premiere of the original anime.
That said, I find that the "softer"-looking, pastel-style art to be slightly off-putting. It's a style that seems (to me) to be lost in how "flowing" it appears, and so doesn't work very well with a lot of dynamic movement or detailed backgrounds (hence why the original manga had many panels that eschewed backgrounds entirely).
And of course, the transformation sequence has had its fan service removed, so a bit of a mark against it there.
