Ant Man News

Marvel continues to struggle with the Ant Man movie. The new director wants a rewrite for the script and is pegging a couple of dudes who wrote the new (not released) Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Haunt are the front runners.

This is going to be a hard nut to crack. Ant Man was never a major super hero, and though pretty cool in application, he's hard to get a grip on (no pun intended). His tiny size looks cool in comic books and you can do all manner of perspective things but on the big screen its going to be crazy challenging. Plus I don't know that he has any connection with audiences. No matter who you are, you probably know or have seen Superman and probably Batman (this is true in the bulk of the Western World and almost certainly in North America) so making a movie is a little easier. But Ant Man? There's a good chance if you read comics you don't really know who he is.

Now Edgar Wright was the director (of Shawn of the Dead fame) and was taking slightly humorous tone with it. And he made this clip, and it looks pretty damn cool….

Ant Man has been a MAJOR player for the Avengers in the comics AND created Ultron, whom is slated to be the villain in Avengers 2.

Hmmm! Interesting. I never placed him thusly. Of course I read mostly DC comics and less on the Marvel side. I wonder if they've considered a tie in?
