H. R. Giger passed away today at the age of 74. His paintings are ground-breaking pieces of art that have driven countless imaginations wild with horrors that linger upon the edge of our minds. Most of course know him from his renditions in the movie Aliens, but he was a pillar of the fantasy-art and horror-art scene.
Giger began working as an artist in the early 1960s while attending the School of Applied Arts in Zurich. His paintings were a response to the night terrors that he suffered, images conjured in dream.
Those are some hellish nightmares good sir!
