Batter Up

This is a pitcher plant. It dome stays open allowing dew or rain water to accumulate in the pitcher. Insects that happen by, crawl in and become stuck in the water. The lid closes, making escape even more difficult. The pitcher then dissolves the unwary bug, consuming it.

Seems like it needs a write up in some monster book somewhere!
