Gencon topped 49000 unique visitors this year, a record for the game trade show. That puts them up some 20 odd percent off of last years 41000 gamers. The turnstile attendance hit over 159,000 as people bought day passes and went to the show on multiple days.
This is all good news, showing that the convention has begun attracting an ever wider pool of gamers. Manufacture attendance was up, though some of the notables, such as Wizards of the Coast and shrugged off the convention.
TLG was there highlighting new releases such as Rune Lore. It marked our 14th Gencon to date. We'll have a full run down in a few days.
