The Declining Fortune of Beer

There are many things I expect to read and write about, but the declining fortunes of beer was not even on my radar. It would seem that beer consumption is down across the west and has been for decades. Short term affects, such as the long winter, have hampered some beer drinking (though I find that hard to believe, its cold, when better to put away a few pints), but also drinking habits and aging populations have hit he industry.

The U. S. saw the 3rd straight year of declining sales for beer, only consuming 28 gallons of beer per person. CNS

All very interesting and probably has the germ of truth, at least about the choices options and the aging populations.
