Evolution in Action

Stumbled on this article over at Live Science. Apparently some folks over at Cornel University created a program that could generate forms. The forms were given several parameters to work under but moving forward and faster was the goal. The forms were given a reward the faster they went . . . more blocks to build themselves with. They were not given any commands on how to build. Faster meant more blocks, more blocks meant faster. Different types of blocks were created for different movements.

What followed was a series of evolving robots. Pretty damn cool.
