Loch Ness is a massive lake by any standards. Fed by seven rivers; its water level rises by feet during heavy storms; its depths is as mind boggling as its length, at over 700 feet. The bottom of the loch is flat, probably attesting to a glacier's sluggish, rock grinding, sweeping movement in the last ice age. The water is murky and varies dramatically in temperature.
The Loch is a perfect place for one of the Old Ones to take refuge; sleeping for years beneath the cool dark waters, until the arc of time rouses the creature to hunt and feed.
First sighting was in 565AD. Since those long ago days every few years the Loch's monster rouses itself to explore its watery realm.
And so Captain Edward claims to have seen it again. He's taken a photo that he claims is the best ever taken of the Loch Ness Monsters. Who am I to gainsay a Highlander? They have had their fair share of immortals!
