Brain Games

I recently discovered a new show (well perhaps only new to me) on National Geographic channel.  It's called Brain Games and it explores various aspects of the brain and how it does what it does, why it does and how we can better understand it.  They use games, challenges, visual cues and anything they can to help you get a better idea of what is going on inside your mind.  Imagine mythbuster science combined with cognition professors with a splash of drama and humor in it.  It's a pretty cool show and I've only caught two episodes thus far.  One was about how we make decisions, what actions our minds go through to arrive at them, and frequently how, though we are sure of one thing, it actually is something else entirely.  The other was about vision.  It is reminiscent of all those visual games you see at science museums, prisms, peripheral vision, optical illusions that make you just plain go "wow".  So if you get that channel, check it out.  It beats the hell out of The Real Housewives of Whatever...
