Apparently Antarctica has the deepest gorge on the Earth! Some 9000 feet deep. That's Mars bad assery (Mars has the tallest peak). Geologists have taken the time to de-ice the continent to study what the bed rock is like and better understand the ever changing nature of the ice that rides it like a wild-haired step mom.


Its pretty cool by any stretch and one has to wonder what lies beneath those mile deep ice sheets, what creatures lie trapped beneath . . . .
