A fisherman in Siberia was throwing his net to bring in the morning haul when the net became ensnared on something. He retrieved the item, pulling it out of the clay and mud, freed his net and started to throw the snag back into the water, but hesitated. He washed it off and it turned out to be a stone statue, small, with a face carved into it.
Taking it to the local authorities they determined it was fossilized bone and probably depicted some god or the other.
