One Step Closer to Conan

Archeologists have discovered dozens of pyramids in the southern regions of the Sudan, 35 to date. They date from about 2000 years ago when a kingdom named Kush thrived in the region. This would have been about the Augustus lorded it over the recently dismantled Roman Republic.

The Kush modeled their pyramids after those further to the east and north in Egypt, however their pyramids were a bit smaller, averaging only 22 feet across the bottom. Grave robbers emptied them of their contents long ago; today only the shells remains and some scattered bones.

An offering table was pulled from the dust however, with the following inscription:

Oh Isis! Oh Osiris!
It is Aba-la.
Make her drink plentiful water;
Make her eat plentiful bread;
Make her be served a good meal.

Of course this is just the shadow of the ancient Kingdom of Kush in Hyperboria where Conan tread in sandaled feet.
