Game Night Wrap Up

So the sword I decided would remain in the ground, stuck into the earth just where Tolvar had thrown it. However, the magic from the sword, once recovered from the dispel magic, as such artifacts are want to do, began to eat away at the walls between worlds. It slowly seeped into the ground, breaking those barriers between the material plane and, in this case, the Wretched Plains.

The party found the sword after enlisting the aid of a fey, Oyvind Pal who wanted to see them pull out the 'sharp tooth.'

After some investigation they realized that pulling the sword out of what Oyvind called "the smoking hill" would open a gate to somewhere...they could not figure the where part. And after some little preparation Tolvar the mage pulled the blade out and watched the ground fall away in nothingness.

Beyond lay the Furthnopt, The Five Case, or better known as Tiamat's Maw. These are the gates to the Wretched Plains that only the evil or disturbed or those whose lives ended in murder so that the road to the Stone Fields, where house the noble dead, confused them and they could not find the way. Great hosts of these spirits waited before the Maw of Tiamat. Into this the living characters came and knew that here was gates they could not easily enter.

As they approached a giant stone in front of them rose, dusting rock and shale from its back, huge dead eyes staring, lifted his might fists to attack the party.

And the night ended!
