Ha. The Germans call them "Bierleichen" or beer corpses. Plenty of them around right now with Oktoberfest just started outside the door here (I work in downtown Munich).
But don't get the wrong idea, it's mostly the foreign visitors that end up like that. Bavarian beer, and especially the Oktoberfest beer, is quite strong compared to beer in the rest of the world.
Bierleichen! I'm going to mark that down. I lived in Heidelberg for a few years back in the 80s and spent a Summer in Klagenfurt in 94 or some such. I remember many beer tents but never got to enjoy Octoberfest!
