That's not the plot of the new Batman movie, co-staring Superman, but rather the verdict of the highest court in the United States. They've denied a petition by the family of Shuster to hear the case about who owns what in the Superman franchise.
They now have to bow out I believe and accept the lower court's ruling that the original agreement with the heirs, made in 1992 that they all get 25k a year for life (which is far more than their grandfather made), compensated them for the Superman copyright and surrendered their rights to it.
Now we can get back to the new Batman movie that Superman might appear in.
