700 Million Strong

ICv2 has done a pretty exhaustive catalog of the value of the hobby game market and placed it at just over 700 million. That means that volume of sales for board games, collectible card games, miniatures, role playing games and dice games totaled 700 million in the market. The market being both stores to include the retail giants as well as direct to consumer and we assume kickstater and other crowd funding business models.

That's a nice chunk, though i'm not sure if its up or off from previous years. But my guess would be off from the early part of this century, but up from the about 2007.
