Pole-Arms ~ the Halberd

The Halberd is a weapon that consists of an ax head mounted on a 5+ foot staff. It has a barb, spur, hook or thorn on the backside designed to pull mounted opponents from their horses. The whole is crowned with a long spike.

The halberd derives its name from the German word Halm, which means staff, and Barte, which means axe. Halm-Barte…Halberd.

It is not necessary to wear the above pants, jacket and hat while using a halberd.
