This is one of the most evocative paintings I've ever seen. For me, it immediately calls to mind the tower of Aufstrag in the world of Airhde. The size of the stairs and people in relation to them conjure images of greatness unsurpassed but for the divine. The emptiness of the space echoes the size, making it seem even more grandiose.
And of course, the small band of worthy adventurers brings to mind a band of players entering unknown deeps, both physically and metamorphically.
