Curiosity on the Move

A few days ago Curiosity began his trek to Mount Sharp. A short drive on the 4th and another on the 7th, in all moving close to 170 feet. He is leaving the Glenelg region. In all the journey is about 5 miles away and should take several months to complete.

Mount Sharp offers sedimentary evidence about the evolution of the Martian atmosphere and when the atmosphere plants failed . . . er, wait I went all John Carter on that last bit.

No matter which way you cut it, this rear view of where Curiosity has been is pretty darn cool.
