Speaking of Star Trek
The sequel to the last Star Trek movie is set to begin next week. The movie s set for release in 2013 or thereabouts I suppose after delays and such. Two years to make the movie? Seems sorta longish to me.
I mean the chinese can build fast - like this 15 story hotel in two days...

I put together a quick promo video for the landscape screens. We had some questions about it so maybe this will answer a few of them. I put a really dramatic soundtrack in the video to boost your adrenaline while you take in all the crazy action!
Live in a Star Trek world - for reals
Sorta. This page over at mental floss has some of the sound effects form the 1e Star Trek (get it, 1e Star Trek, get it, nudge nudge wink wink). Anyway. There are several 24 hours loops of various Star Trek sounds like the engine, red alert, bridge etc.

Neandethals build bone houses and 5E announced
ON the same day! Go figure.
Neanderthals are getting some points for being the builders of the first bone structures.
Museum quality as well!
In other news, 5E was announced.

Trolls to the Right of Me!
So I look at the old 1st edition Trolls and must confess that I never liked them. The long skinny arms and the hair with nose made them look more like to a hag than anything else. I'm not even partial to the green skin, though that kind of looks cool in a swamp creature sort of way....
Of course this second image is from the movie Legend. That is the hag, Meg from the movie. But you can see the similarity.
But I must say of all the depictions of the troll over the years, I think my favorite is still the ones that appear in the movie The Hobbit. These are just cool! Of course its probably some residual memory from my childhood that allows me to bask in the warmth of their awesomeness!

But I must say of all the depictions of the troll over the years, I think my favorite is still the ones that appear in the movie The Hobbit. These are just cool! Of course its probably some residual memory from my childhood that allows me to bask in the warmth of their awesomeness!
Last night (and Saturday) I had the pleasure of running a game with a bunch of youngsters. No one at the table was over 12. They had a blast. It took these kids about 10 minutes to master the Siege Engine and get started. All of them love and play video games, but they were fired up about it. We played Saturday and all day Sunday they bugged me about running another one.
It was alot of fun!
What was even more cool I did it with the new C&C Landscape screens! It was absolutely awesome. The screens only stand 8 inches tall, both bi-fold screens are made from 90 pt chip board and wrapped in some kick butt art by Peter Bradley.
We were pleased enough about the screens to go ahead and open them up for orders. They begin shipping immediately. Trollzah!

C&C Landscape Screens News!
I am very happy to announce that we assembled the first landscape screen for the C#C game. Like the portrait screen this bad boy is manufactured using 90 pt. board. It consists of 2 two panel screens, each 8 inches tall and 16 inches wide. It is awesomesauce if I do say so myself.

Reading through the lists of names of these Vikings is like a roll call for fantasy characters. Harold Bluetooth, Eirik Blood Axe, Rakkae Dog King, Harald Fairhair, Hakon the Good, Eirik the Red, Sigurd the Stout and so on. Their names came from their exploits and the greater their exploits the greater their names.
And of course there were none quiet as famous as Hagar the Horrible!!!
