On Distant Mars
I'm pretty sure, long, long ago, some unfortunate member of a dying race trod his footsore way across this broken country. Back hunched, eyes to the ground, cloak wrapped around him to keep out the never ending cold. He moved slow for the air was thin. He moved without purpose for he was the last of his people. A dying race on a dying world.
Frozen in Time
Way back in the way back days of 1900 or thereabouts Ernest Shackleton set out for the south pole. He was following in the footsteps of others, most notably Robert Scott. Shackleton occupied a hut built by Scott before he died and there they stayed for awhile, stranded it would seem.
When they left, they left some treasure behind. Someone left a book of 22 negatives. All of which survived the freezing wasteland.
They were only just recovered.

Antikythea ~ Or 1500 year old Computer
Looks like a device found some 113 years ago, laying in the ruins of a Roman ship has been dissected by digital imaging devices. The small device has been something of a mystery for some time, possessing very intricate, interlocking gears.
It is now believed, by some, to be a very complex astronomical device put together to track the movements of the moon, sun and planets.

Not your Dragon's Breath Weapon
This little guy has his own little breath weapon. When attacked by the spider (a wolf spider, a rather aggressive predator) that is easily 5-6 times his size. The spider clearly flees from the blast.
Apparently these guys feed on nicotine plants and are far more resistant to its harmful affects than humans are, 100 times more resistant . . . of course one must wonder if they lived for 90 years if they would still be as resistant . . . and they use its foul chemicals to breath toxic gas.
Almost like a baby green dragon!
