The U.S. Army is looking at a purchase of her first laser mounted defense system. The High Energy Mobile Demonstrator is a Boeing creation and is designed to disable drones and other aircraft forcing them to crash. It has other applications as well, targeting slow moving ordinance, such as rockets etc. It being mobile is extremely helpful.

Soon you see infantry in exoskeletons moving across the field with heavy treaded tanks moving beside them, laster mounted trucks following and then a bunch of hippies in a chartreuse microbus (just seeing if you were still reading)!
