Pay to Play

This is just odd. 200,000 people applied to go on a one way trip to Mars. The idea being that the company, Mars One Foundation, a non-profit, will send several teams to Mars starting in 2023. The trip is a one way trip. You go, you stay.

Presumably they will have some kind of pod to live in . . . but as it turns out they don't even have a launch vehicle to send you there, nor a launch site, nor any funding.  They do need however, 6 billion, to get their teams there.

The only money they have raised is from the application fee, ranging from 5 to 75 bucks. That means they raised several million dollars from the applicants.

That's mighty clever I say. I say its mighty clever.
