The fire holds you. Its dancing lights ensorcell you like nothing in many long days. They draw you in, pulling you into a soothing radiance of calming warmth. But you know there is danger, for the light carries far in the crisp, cool air, summoning curious beasts who stalk the wild and hunt its darkened corridors.

The Bridge

The bridge spans shallow water. The road winds through the country beyond, even to the mountain, your objective. It seems odd, here in the wilds, this bridge, but maybe its best not to get your feet wet this late in the year.
