Word of the Day -- Quark

I love this word, simply for its two seemingly disparate definitions...

Quark -- 1. Any of a number of subatomic particles carrying a fractional electric charge, postulated as building blocks of the hadrons.  2. A type of low-fat curd cheese.

So basically you have a subatomic particle and cottage cheese.  The origin is early 20th century German, so I'm not sure where the idea for cottage cheese to be called quark comes from, it deserves some more digging.  Does anyone know?

Until then, I know which I prefer to think of...
