Upon the Edge of Myth

Archeologists have unearthed a relief depicting an unknown Roman or Near Eastern god. The stonework, found in ancient Turkey, shows a bearded god rising from some type of flowered plant. The temple where the relief was unearthed was dedicated to the Roman God Jupiter, or one of his many faces, but the imagery does not resemble how that god was normally depicted.

Likely as not its a hybridization of several gods, Roman and Near Eastern. Pretty cool.

Honestly to my untrained, in expert eyes he does not look Roman at all, but very Near Eastern.
