Lorries on the Grave

Archeologists have been scrambling to excavate and catalog several tombs in the United Arab Emirates that are in the target zone of a new highway. The tombs were made by date farmers some 4000 years ago. One will survive the construction the other three will be destroyed.

The National

The tombs are not covered structures but rather the remnants of them. Large stones mark out where the tombs and other buildings once stood along the base of the mountains. Some 4000 years ago these people carved a living out of the quiet desert with bronze and wood tools. Pretty cool.
