Transformer Genesis

Not to be outdone by the Eyeball Growing Japanese the folks over at MIT have put together a very small transformer. Taking biology as their starting point they envisioned programmable matter, wherein a chain of modules could be constructed to reshape themselves into any number of positions...or shapes. To alter their form. They succeeded wonderfully. The created a series of mechanical joints that interacted, turning in on themselves and adopting the shapes they were instructed to from their creators. As reported at Wired.


We really aren't that far from Transformers becoming a reality. Maybe by December 21st....
