So that's how we started speaking. One of our distant knuckleheaded ancestors started using a tool, left it in the cave and asked his buddy to go get it for him. So two things began, the game of "what's that called" and the need to ask someone to "go get that for me."
Through a whole bunch of experimenting with college students researchers have tied our development of language with our development of tools. Going further they suggest that the tool use may have been a fundamental driving force in our evolutionary track.
