Oktoberfest Beer

All those steins of beer you see the fair maids hauling to and from the kegs and tables is special. Only certain beer make the cut for the official Octoberfest beer. It must conform to the reinheitsgebot, a Beer Purity Law passed in Bavaria in the way back of 1516, amongst other things it must have 6% alcohol.

These are the beers you can enjoy in the beer tent: Augustiner-Brau, Hacker-Pshcorr Brau, Lowenbrau, Paulaner-Brau, Spatenbrau, and Stattliches Hofbrau-Munchen.

Pretty much all beer sold in Bavaria has to comply with the Reinheitsgebot. Explains the general lack of headaches afterwards...
