What Were the Welch Doing?

Archeologists have been sifting through 70,000 bones unearthed from prehistoric Wales. They've been doing all manner of tests on these bones, including biomolecular (which is just a cool word), to determine what they are, where they came from, etc.

Turns out that the Welsh in those days ate a lot of cattle and not too many pigs (bacon is good, but it ain't no steak!). But these bones, 80% of them, belonged to pigs. And to make it more interesting, the majority of that 80% were from the right forequarter of the pig.

Now, speculations abound, but the dig masters seem to think this was some type of feasting process, where the locals gathered and ate this part of the pig.

Pretty interesting.
