Life Beyond Earth

Scientists discovered microbial life living in tar somewhere down in the Caribbean. Its always been assumed I suppose that life could not live in oil, petro, etc. Not sure why that's been assumed, but I'm sure there's a reason for it.

But this leads to an article on Livescience that, with this new knowledge in tow, allows us to broaden our thoughts on where life might exist in the solar system. They mention Mars, Europa, Titan, and Enceladus.

I wish they would change these designators to read "life like we know it as it exists on Earth at the present time." I suspicion, that we will find, once we start wandering the stars, that life takes many, many forms and consists of all manner of chemicals.
