Ghostbusters Getting Girlpower

It broke over the weekend that the new Ghostbusters movie…that may go into production as early as next year…is going to shed its old cast (with Ramis passing away and Murrey it was inevitable) and replaced it with all female leads.

This could be interesting if they pick the right cast. Though the new director, Paul Frieg, is very chummy with Melissa McCarthy who I would rather not see in this movie. Her brand of humor is really enjoyable but she lacks the subtle humor that the content calls for. Emma Stone is in the mix we hear, but I think they should look at Anna Kendrick. Her role in Rapture Palooz was hilarious.

We'll see how this pans out.

This will not, cannot, work. An all chick Ghostbusters? Why not a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies with egg rolls instead of turtles? Or a Superman movie with the Man of Steel portrayed by a Lay-Z-Boy recliner?

No.
