The legal battle continues unabated as Sweetpea Entertainment and Hasbro continue the struggle for who has the movie rights. In short Sweetpea had them but Hasbro claims they reverted back to Hasbro because Sweetpea didn't make a movie in the allotted time. Sweetpea is claiming this isn't true and counter sued.
What followed was a blisteringly large number of filings, counterfilings, judgments and just general all around mad cap fun. Read more detail on ICv2.
But in short, the movie Hasbro/Universal had planned is on hold and anything Sweetpea is doing is on hold.
I don't know what it is about that brand that generates such law suits on all fronts, but it surely does.
