Dystopian Futures

This past weekend I climbed up into the wild foothills to do a little hiking, shooting, bird watching and sitting around  drinking Dr. Pepper. When I left it was a normal day, the sky was blue, cars were driving about in seemingly random directions and the rats were living in holes.

When I came down off the mountain bionically enhanced rats had infravision! What the hey?? Apparently they implanted electrodes in a rat's head that allows him to see infra-red light. Pretty soon we'll have bionics for just about everything. Which isn't, in itself, a bad thing.

However, don't you know people are going to start wanting these bionic enhancements even if they don't need them. The future is looking more and like a twisted science fiction novel . . . in the there and then, there will be true body sculpting . . . with bionics.

post script: I'm beginning to like the future less and less.

BAM! Take that civilized future!
